Everyone Loves A Long Weekend

Hi Shades Readers, hope you are all doing well!

As you know, we are talking about all things travel related this month.  We at Shades love traveling, whether it is a big trip to another country or a  small trip to the cottage, we are in!  

When I think of my favourite travel memory, I can say that I have a few.  One of them was celebrating a birthday in Italy.  We spent the day at the Vatican in Rome and then had dinner in a beautiful little town called Tivoli.  It was a memorable birthday for sure.  

Another one of my favourite memories was at the tail end of a trip to Greece.  We had travelled all over the country and our last stop before heading back home was on the island of Mykonos.  We were pretty tired, having been on the go for three weeks and looking forward to getting back to our regular routine.  It was a Friday evening of a long weekend there and we decided to drive around the island.  We came across a great spot, Ftelia beach, where there were local families and friends enjoying the beach and each other.  We spent some time there just really enjoying the sights and sounds and of course the water.  I remember thinking that no matter where you are, everyone enjoys a long weekend.  

On the flip side, the next day on our travel back to Athens to start our journey home, we missed the high speed ferry that would have taken 2 hours to get back to the mainland and had to grab the 5 hour one instead...not the worst memory but it wasn't that much fun. :)
